Privacy policy

This website is deliberately data-minimal: no cookies, no analytics, no fonts from third-party servers. The area map only loads when you explicitly ask for it. Exactly as much happens as is needed to run the site and handle your enquiry.

1. Controller

The operator named in the legal notice is responsible for data processing on this website. You can reach her using the contact details given there.

2. Server log files

When you access this website, the server automatically collects technical access data: the page requested, the time, the amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system, and the IP address. This data is technically necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. The logs are not merged with other data sources and are deleted after a short period.

3. Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and embeds no analytics, tracking or advertising services. There is therefore no cookie banner — there would be nothing to consent to.

4. Fonts, map and external content

All fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or comparable services.

On the area page you can load an interactive map from OpenStreetMap. It is only loaded once you tap “Load map” — until then no connection is made. Your browser then fetches map tiles directly from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom). In doing so, your IP address, the time, the map sections requested, browser information and the address of this website as the referrer are transmitted. The European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent only applies to your current visit; once you close the browser tab you will be asked again next time. You can withdraw it at any time by closing the tab. Details on processing by the OpenStreetMap Foundation: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy

We merely link to other mapping services (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap routes); a connection is only made when you deliberately click the link.

5. Enquiry form

If you use the enquiry form, we process the details you provide: name, email address, optionally a phone number, your preferred dates, the number of guests and your message.

These details are transmitted solely by email: once to our inbox and once as a confirmation of receipt to the email address you entered, so that you have a copy of your enquiry. The data is used only to handle your enquiry. It is not stored in a database. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as the enquiry is directed at concluding a contract.

Your enquiry remains in our email inbox until its purpose no longer applies and no statutory retention periods stand in the way. You may request deletion at any time.

To guard against automated abuse, the form contains a field that is invisible to you and checks how long it took to complete. No additional personal data is collected in the process.

6. Email transmission

The form message and the confirmation of receipt are sent via an email server, which delivers the content you submitted to our inbox and to your email address. Please note that the transmission of email over the internet is not necessarily encrypted end to end; you should therefore not send us confidential information via the form or by email.

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin, its recipients and the purpose of processing, as well as a right to have this data corrected or deleted. You may withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.

You also have a right to restriction of processing, a right to object and a right to data portability. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

8. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar begins with “https://”.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal position changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
