About us
We live and breathe fishing
You will find that motto throughout the house. Our apartment sits about 900 metres from Lake Mellensee — close enough for a walk along the water before breakfast, far enough away for quiet nights.
Over the years we have built up good contacts with fishing guides and commercial fishermen in the region. If you want to know where the pike hold in May, or where to get hold of a boat, just ask.
But this village is not only home to anglers. Beach volleyball players, walkers, swimmers, mushroom pickers and cyclists all belong here too. Come and visit — we will show you the Brandenburg countryside.
— Cindy Jäkel, your host
What to expect
Four reasons for Lake Mellensee
A lake that actually holds fish
Pike, zander, perch, eel and carp. Mellensee is a state waterway and is commercially managed — permits are available by the day, week or month.
Berlin is close, but not too close
Around 50 kilometres to the capital. Near enough for a day trip, far enough that the ducks are the loudest thing you hear in the evening.
Room for the whole family
Bedroom, living room with a sofa bed, kitchen-diner with terrace access. A cot and an extra bed can be arranged on request.
The forest starts at the door
Cycle paths, walking routes, mushroom grounds and three lidos within the municipality. Most guests only use the car to get here.
The apartment
A home for the week, room by room
A solid, fully equipped holiday apartment — with a kitchen you will actually cook in and a terrace where wet things are allowed to dry.
Out and about
Between two days on the water
A lido, cycle paths, mushroom woods and day-trip destinations with real character — almost everything is within cycling distance. Most of our guests leave the car parked all week.
